Dorsey said the charity sold the boat a few days later for $246,000. “Now the donor’s situation depends on the whim of some disgruntled secretary,” said Dorsey. “All she has to do is call up IRS and inform them of what’s going on.” “It’s the donor that takes the heat if the boat is peddled quickly for a fraction of appraised value,” said Bill Kelsey, who runs the Yacht Donation Bureau in Hallandale, Fla.
Kelsey said some “fly-by-night” donation agencies “don’t go by any standards.” He said these organizations hire “finders” to locate people anxious to donate yachts. The agencies pay these finders, then turn the yachts over for a fee to nonprofit organizations which have buyers waiting. The boats are sold immediately at a fraction of the appraised values, thus sticking the donors in an embarrassing tax situation.
When Kelsey went into business he sent away to IRS for a list of tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations. The list came back with 200,000 names.
“I get all kinds of calls,” he said. “One clergyman called from New York and said he wanted a big yacht. I said, ‘Why?’ He said to take his family up and down the Hudson River. “I asked him, ‘How can I get on that train you’re riding?’ He said, ‘No problem. I can make you a clergyman by mail.’”
But Kelsey and others in the yacht donation business maintain that there are actually only a few bad apples in the barrel — that most yacht donations are going to organizations that have use for the boats in research and other marine programs.
The IRS won’t say whether it is actively investigating the yacht charter donation business, though a spokesman did concede there is room for abuse.

I’ve been curious lately about U.S. Junk Silver Coins.
I’m interested in owning some silver to hedge against inflation, and these coins are a good way to do it.
In particular, from what I’ve read about junk silver bag investing, these coins are a fantastic way to hedge against inflation, and political instability.
I need an effective hedge against inflation, and these coins look like a good choice for it.
I’ll post more soon.

One of the most surprising things in erp manufacturing module software implementation for company owners is that in most cases, the cost of the exercise exceeds the forecast that the vendor made. This is never welcome and some company executives feel that vendors could have withheld some information to encourage the company to commit. While this is possible, it should also be appreciated that there are some very specific company details that the vendor does not know at the beginning. It is during the process of exploring the business that some details emerge which has implications on cost and which could therefore the implementation costs exceed the estimates.

It’s time to get serious about used salon equipment.
Equipment costs are going to be my biggest expense at the outset, so saving on that can make a big difference.
A friend of mine who owns a salon has mentioned the benefits of used salon reception desks to me several times, and I have to say I’m convinced.
I can’t really justify buying new when no one will be able to tell the difference anyway, after a week or two.
Let me know what you think about all this.

I really need to learn more about CNA Classes.
I’d eventually like to go to nursing school, but a cna certification would be a good start I think.
So I’ve been looking into Online CNA Courses Accredited Through the NLNAC to see what my options are.
Considering the shape the country is i , it’s time to develop more marketable skills.
I’ll be looking forward to your comments.
Finding a solution for irritations and imbalances that may be occurring in your body can help you to stop all discomfort. For those who suffer from chronic yeast infections is the need to find a solution that can alter this problem. The main focus for those that have reoccurring infections is to find different foods, natural remedies, supplements and medications that can stop bad bacteria from causing irritation and imbalance in your body. Small supplements, such as vinegar, garlic or yogurt may offer some of the best solutions. You can also look into medications, such as boric acid, which will kill off the bacteria in your body. Knowing what to change in your daily intake and to combat against these bacteria is a simple way to begin moving past the irritability that centers around a chronic yeast infection.

Pets :: Pet Care
Caring for elderly dogs may involve treating epilepsy which is similar to that in humans. The main symptom is a type of seizure. Seizures can come in many forms and several of these are listed below:
Generalized Seizures
Generalized seizures are the most common type of seizures in dogs and cats. There are several variations of these seizures:
1. Absence seizures (petit mal): sudden brief loss of consciousness, rare in animals
2. Myoclonic seizures: muscle jerk of one or more muscles
3. Clonic seizures: rhythmic muscle contractions
4. Tonic seizures: increase in muscle tone in all skeletal muscles
5. Tonic Clonic seizures (grand mal): the most common form of seizure in pets
Tonic Clonic Seizures
Tonic Clonic (grand mal) seizures account for 60% of seizures in cats and 80% of seizures in dogs. They are usually accompanied by a loss of consciousness, and consist of a tonic phase, where the increased muscle tone causes the animal to fall on its side with its limbs extended, and a clonic phase, consisting of intense muscle jerking or paddling movements.
In order to diagnose true epilepsy, other causes of seizures must be first ruled out. Once a tentative diagnosis of epilepsy has been made (by excluding all the other known causes of seizures), the animal can be prescribed anticonvulsant drugs. These drugs are not appropriate for animals with seizures caused by a problem outside the brain. The overall goal of anticonvulsant therapy is to eradicate all seizure activity, but this is rarely achieved. A more realistic goal is to reduce the frequency of the seizures to a level that is acceptable for the owner, without having negative side effects for the animal.
Since epilepsy is not curable, the soladi care home for pets owner must be prepared to give the medication for the rest of the animals life.
In most cases, however, there is no cure for the mesothelioma patient. Accurate diagnosis and a frank discussion of prognosis will allow patients to prepare for death. Pleural mesothelioma is a mesenchymal tumor that occurs primarily in the pleura (80 percent of cases) or the peritoneum (20 percent of cases). (1) First described in 1870, the association between mesothelioma and asbestos was not convincingly documented until 1960, when high tumor rates were found in South African asbestos miners. (2) Mesothelioma is a rare tumor, with an incidence rate of one to two cases per 1 million persons per year.

I really need to learn more about 90% Junk Silver Coins.
I’m interested in owning some silver to hedge against inflation, and these coins are a good way to do it.
I’ve been researching junk silver coin prices for a while, now, and I think it’s time to take action, before precious metal prices go even higher.
I think the dollar is in big trouble, and these coins are a great way to store value during the coming turmoil.
What do you think?

Home :: Home Improvement
I have decided that I have put too many new roofs on our home. When we initially bought the home we had to have the roof replaced before we could even move in. Back then we didn’t have much money and chose the cheapest material we could find. About eight years later we found we needed another new roof. I made the mistake of doing it exactly how it was done before. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking. Now that I need another roof installed, I am going to make sure it will be the last one. I have been comparing roofing materials and have decided to go with something metal. This will last longer than me.
